The Art Institute of Chicago Modern Wing
Designed by Pritzker-Prize winning architect Renzo Piano, The Modern Wing is home for the museum’s collection of 20th and 21st Century Art. The Clear Grade Rift and Quartered White Oak chosen by Renzo Piano’s team was cut to a specific size to create a visually lineal effect with vertical stanchions. Renzo’s mastery of scale, proportion and dedication to natural light highlight the importance of this museum to the cultural life of Chicago. Built by Turner Construction.
